Sunny Singh, Internationally acclaimed, award-winning writer and Academic


SUNNY SINGH is a London-based writer. She has published three critically acclaimed novels and a book of non-fiction about the lives of single women in India. Her latest novel, Hotel Arcadia (Quartet) was described as 'addictive, penetrative' by the Independent. Her short stories have been published by prestigious international literary journals including The Drawbridge and World Literature Today. An expert on Bollywood, she has just finished a book on Amitabh Bachchan commissioned by the BFI for their film star series.

Her creative non-fiction and academic writing has been published across the world in key journals and anthologies. She also writes for newspapers and magazines, in Spanish and English, across the globe. She has worked as a journalist and management executive in Mexico, Chile, and South Africa. Currently, she teaches Creative Writing at the London Metropolitan University (UK). She is also a founder of the Jhalak Prize for Book of the Year by a Writer of Colour, intended to recognise and celebrate British writers of colour.

Dr Nicola Rollock is the Deputy Director of the Centre for Research in Race & Education at the University of Birmingham. She is interested in the ways in which we think about and address racism and, in identifying solutions to persistent race inequalities within the education system and the workplace.

Nicola is a trustee of the British Education Research Association and a Patron of the Equality Challenge Unit’s Race Equality Charter, which seeks to improve the experiences, progression, and success of faculty and students of colour. Nicola was the winner, in 2016, of the PRECIOUS Award for Outstanding Woman in Professional Services for contributions to race equality and, in 2015, was recognised as a Woman of Achievement by the Women of the Year Council.

Dr Stacie CC Graham, Founder of OYA Retreats, Certified Hatha yoga instructor
Dr Stacie CC Graham is an independent management consultant and life coach based in London, UK. Previously a management consultant at an internationally renowned consultancy, she has extensive work experience in the US, the UK, and Germany. With an MS in economics and a doctorate in motivational psychology, she is able to bring together economic and business sense with a deep knowledge of what drives people's behaviour. Further, she is the founder of OYA: Body-Mind-Spirit Retreats, a project bringing yoga, mindfulness and other wellbeing practices to women of colour communities.

She is a certified Hatha yoga instructor as well as a certified life coach. As a practitioner, she is dedicated to the lineages of Iyengar and Kundalini yoga. She travels to India every two years in order to study and honour the origins of the tradition. Mindfulne…

Amani Eke, Founder of Project Yogi & Kemetic yoga instructor
Amani Eke, is the founder of Project Yogi, a not-for-profit organisation providing yoga, mindfulness and social emotional learning activities to young people and their families. She is an Egyptian/Kemetic yoga instructor. Egyptian yoga originates from Ancient Kemet, now known as Egypt. It is a restorative system which has unique postures and principles. It combines physical movement, deep breathing and meditation to help achieve balance, peace, order and discipline which is known as Maat
Amani is also a Kemetic yoga instructor at the OYA Retreats. The OYA Retreats delivers an holistic movement and mindfulness practice to women of colour. On exclusive retreats in the UK and abroad, guests are offered room to explore, reflect, release, and renew.
