Dr Nicola Rollock, Deputy Director, Centre for Research in Race & Education


Dr Nicola Rollock is the Deputy Director of the Centre for Research in Race & Education at the University of Birmingham. She is interested in the ways in which we think about and address racism and, in identifying solutions to persistent race inequalities within the education system and the workplace.

Nicola is a trustee of the British Education Research Association and a Patron of the Equality Challenge Unit’s Race Equality Charter, which seeks to improve the experiences, progression, and success of faculty and students of colour. Nicola was the winner, in 2016, of the PRECIOUS Award for Outstanding Woman in Professional Services for contributions to race equality and, in 2015, was recognised as a Woman of Achievement by the Women of the Year Council.

Reclaiming spaces: Women of Colour excelling in Sports & Business Dr Stacie CC Graham, Founder of OYA Retreats, Certified Hatha yoga instructor Dr Stacie CC Graham is an independent management consultant and life coach based in London, UK. Previously a management consultant at an internationally renowned consultancy, she has extensive work experience in the US, the UK, and Germany. With an MS in economics and a doctorate in motivational psychology, she is able to bring together economic and business sense with a deep knowledge of what drives people's behaviour. Further, she is the founder of OYA: Body-Mind-Spirit Retreats, a project bringing yoga, mindfulness and other wellbeing practices to women of colour communities. She is a certified Hatha yoga instructor as well as a certified life coach. As a practitioner, she is dedicated to the lineages of Iyengar and Kundalini yoga.
